Pallet and reclaimed wood Christmas trees are all over Pinterest.

The Hobby Lobby tree is 14 7/8" tall.

The trees are priced at $9.99 but are currently being sold for 40% off online, and in the stores.

I apologize that somehow I missed taking a photo of the painting process.

I used Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Barn Red  to paint the 2nd and bottom wood slats.  I used a foam brush so I could paint only the top of the slat, leaving the sides of the tree gray.  I used a very thin coat of paint.

I used the same technique to apply Fusion Mineral Paint in Bayberry  to the remaining slats.

I then sanded the edges (with 220 grit sandpaper), along with the center areas of the tree to distress it.

Here I have placed a row of trees to stencil onto the largest and bottom tree slat.

Hobby Lobby wooden Christmas craft buttons were hot glued on the green slats.  I think I purchased these last year at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas craft section.

AND, my tree was decorated!
